Tier List Overview
This is the definitive Neverness to Everness character tier list for 2026. Every playable character is evaluated at max investment — Level 80, fully upgraded skills, Signature Arc equipped, and best-in-slot Cartridge sets — then ranked by overall performance across open-world exploration, Protocol encounters, and co-op missions.
How We Rank Characters
NTE's combat system revolves around six Elements — Chaos, Incantation, Psyche, Cosmos, Lakshana, and Anima — each interacting with enemy weaknesses. Rankings factor in: damage output, utility (buffs, debuffs, shields, healing), team synergy, Arc flexibility (without Signature Arc), and Console value (power per unlock).
S-Tier — Must-Pull Characters
Skia · Chaos · Main DPS
Skia is the strongest Main DPS in the current meta. Her Chaos combos build DoT stacks that detonate explosively when enemies are Weakness Broken. At A0 she already competes with other characters at A6. Her Signature Arc amplifies every aspect of her kit. She pairs best with a Cosmos or Lakshana sub-DPS who can keep enemies in a broken state.
Nanally · Cosmos · Sub DPS / Buffer
Nanally is the universal buffer, slotting into every composition. Her Cosmos skills lower enemy elemental resistance by up to 30%, amplifying the entire team's damage output. At Console 2, she gains a persistent field effect that debuffs enemies continuously. Her budget Arc option retains about 85% of Signature Arc performance.
Lacrimosa · Incantation · Healer
The best healer in NTE. Her Incantation passive regenerates team HP proportional to skill casts, enabling high-tempo teams to sustain aggressively. She also contributes meaningful Incantation damage. Her Signature Arc "Arc of Lament" provides a team-wide damage bonus that turns healing into an offensive contribution.
A-Tier — Strong Picks
Adler · Lakshana · Buffer / Sub DPS
Premier off-element buffer. His Lakshana attacks apply a unique Resonance debuff that increases target vulnerability to all damage types. Beginner-friendly with consistent buff uptime and no complex rotations. Best substitute when Nanally is unavailable.
Fadia · Psyche · Shield / Sub DPS
Fadia's Shield scales directly with her ATK, enabling offensive builds that still protect the team. At Console 4, she unlocks a powerful follow-up attack. Ideal for hypercarry compositions where the Main DPS is fragile but deals enormous damage.
Haniel · Anima · Break Specialist
Fastest Break stack accumulation in NTE. When an enemy's Break gauge is depleted, the entire team deals bonus damage for an extended window. Near-mandatory in content featuring armored or shielded enemies.
Baicang · Incantation · Main DPS
Competitive alternative to Skia in sustained-DPS scenarios. Exceptional damage against Incantation-weak enemies with strong self-buff mechanics. More consistent than Skia in longer fights, making him excellent for exploration and time-challenge content.
Team Composition Guidelines
Standard NTE teams consist of four characters. Effective compositions follow this framework: 1 Main DPS (Skia, Baicang, Chiz) + 1 Sub DPS/Buffer (Nanally, Adler) + 1 Healer or Shield (Lacrimosa, Fadia) + 1 Flex slot (Break specialist, second sub-DPS, or utility support). Aim for at least two different elements — multi-element teams trigger interaction bonuses increasing total damage by 15–25%.
Arc & Cartridge Optimization
Signature Arcs are the highest-priority upgrade for S-Rank characters, but well-rolled general Arcs at +10 frequently reach 80–90% of Signature performance. Pull Signature Arcs for your Main DPS first. For Cartridge sets: offensive DPS should target Eight Set (ATK +18%) or Six Set (CRIT Rate +12%). Healers use healing-bonus sets; buffers often run hybrid stat sets.
Final Notes
Every character in NTE can clear all standard content with enough investment. This tier list is most relevant for players pushing the highest difficulty challenges where optimization matters most.
