Who Is Nanally in NTE?

Nanally is an Anima-element S-Rank character in Neverness to Everness and a member of the Eibon Antique Shop. She is widely regarded as the best Main DPS available at launch and among the highest-performing characters in the entire version 1.0 roster. Her design philosophy is straightforward: deal enormous amounts of Anima damage consistently through her unique Ichi-daime's Authority state and the summoned companion Underboss that fights alongside her during the burst window.

What separates Nanally from other Main DPS characters is the density of her damage output. She contributes approximately 60–75% of total team damage in most compositions, making her the unambiguous carry of any team she joins. Her kit rewards players who invest in high Critical Rate and Critical Damage, and the Fireflies and the Forest Cartridge is specifically designed to stack massive Critical Damage bonuses through her naturally constant attack cadence.

Nanally also has a notable exploration utility: her Skill allows her to walk on any surface — including vertical walls and ceilings — opening movement options unavailable to most characters. This makes her excellent for collecting map resources and unlocking out-of-reach content.

Nanally Skills Overview

Nanally — Anima S-Rank Main DPS

Skill Upgrade Priority: Passive 1 & 2 > Basic Attack / Ultimate (equal) > Skill > Support Skill

  • Basic Attack — Predation: Up to 5 consecutive Anima strikes (Standard 5-Hit Combo) or a faster 3-Hit Charged Combo. The 5-hit sequence deals more total damage; the charged sequence is faster. Mix both based on enemy positioning and remaining buff time.
  • Skill — Ichi-daime's Authority: Core buff. Grants +30% Critical Damage for 12 seconds and enables follow-up attacks whenever the team deals Esper Cycle damage. Also activates wall-walking. This is the first action every rotation.
  • Ultimate — Underboss Summon: Summons Underboss for 6 seconds who attacks alongside every hit Nanally lands. Always cast immediately after Skill to align with Ichi-daime's Authority.
  • Support Skill — Coordinated Strike: Deals Anima damage on swap or trigger. Lower priority but contributes to Fireflies CRIT DMG stacks.

Best Arcs for Nanally

Ready-Ready — Best Overall Arc (Signature)

Nanally's signature Arc and best-in-slot for all content. It provides the highest base ATK of all her options, a CRIT Rate sub-stat, and three compounding effects: a permanent +15% ATK, a stackable +15–30% Basic Attack & Critical Riposte DMG after using Skill and Ultimate (the standard rotation activates both), and the Commander Tiger Talisman which grants +10% DMG against Bosses for 10 seconds when both Skill and Ultimate are used within 15 seconds of each other — which the standard rotation always does automatically.

Fluff of Fortitude — Strong S-Rank Alternative

Available through the Battle Pass. Provides an unconditional +22% DMG boost rising to +28% against enemies below 50% HP. Easier to obtain than Ready-Ready and requires no rotation adjustment. The ATK% sub-stat means you need to invest in CRIT Rate through Modules and Cartridge sub-stats to compensate.

Song of the Whale — Solid Option

General ATK increase plus bonus DMG against Broken enemies and minor self-sustain on kill. Slightly weaker than Fluff of Fortitude in pure damage but valued in solo content without a healer.

Oraora! — Best A-Rank Arc (F2P)

Stacks Basic Attack DMG through continuous Basic Attack usage — which Nanally does constantly. The go-to investment before S-Rank Arcs are secured.

Best Cartridge for Nanally

Fireflies and the Forest — Best-in-Slot

Nanally's optimal Cartridge provides two powerful bonuses:

  • 2-piece: +10% Anima DMG unconditionally. All of Nanally's attacks deal Anima damage, so this is a flat 10% increase across her entire kit.
  • 4-piece: Each time a nearby enemy takes Anima damage, gain +8% CRIT DMG for 10 seconds, stacking up to 7 times (+56% CRIT DMG maximum). Stacks persist as long as Anima damage is dealt within every 10-second window — which Nanally always satisfies. Combined with the +30% CRIT DMG from Ichi-daime's Authority, Nanally reaches 86% CRIT DMG from passive sources alone before counting Cartridge and Module sub-stats.

Additionally, Fireflies and the Forest has a Type II Module specialization: each Type II Module equipped gives Nanally +6% CRIT Rate. With 8 Type II Modules available, she gains up to +48% CRIT Rate from this bonus, making it easy to hit CRIT Rate targets without dedicating Module sub-stat rolls to it.

Shadow Creed — Viable Alternative

Provides ATK and ATK% bonuses on Skill casts. Best alternative Cartridge when Fireflies and the Forest is unavailable, and pairs well with Ready-Ready's ATK stacking.

Rotation Guide

Nanally is a Main DPS who needs 10–15 seconds of continuous on-field time per rotation:

  1. Cycle through support characters (Haniel, Sakiri, Adler) to apply team buffs and build the Esper Cycle Meter for a Blossom reaction chain.
  2. Swap to Nanally → immediately use Skill (Ichi-daime's Authority): +30% CRIT DMG, follow-up attacks enabled.
  3. Immediately use Ultimate: summon Underboss for 6 seconds. Both actions together activate Commander Tiger Talisman (Ready-Ready users).
  4. Attack continuously with 5-Hit Combo: alternate 3 standard hits → 3 charged hits. Repeat until buffs expire.
  5. Do not swap Nanally out until Ichi-daime's Authority expires (12 seconds). Premature swap wastes the remaining CRIT DMG window.
  6. Return to supports, refresh buffs, repeat the loop.

Key tip: Have support characters deal Anima damage (Haniel or Jiuyuan) before swapping to Nanally so Fireflies CRIT DMG stacks start building before she enters the field. By the time Nanally starts attacking, she already has 2–3 stacks pre-loaded and reaches maximum stacks within 2–3 additional seconds.

Best Team Compositions for Nanally

Nanally · Esper Zero · Haniel · Adler — Blossom Team (Premium)

NanallyS
AnimaNanally

Nanally's highest-performing team. Esper Zero (Cosmos element) combined with Nanally (Anima element) continuously triggers the Blossom Esper Cycle reaction, generating Vita Buds that bloom into Vita Pistils for AoE follow-up damage. Haniel amplifies Blossom passively and provides ATK buffs. Adler supplies DEF-scaled shields from the bench. Esper Zero's burst sub-DPS presence and constant Blossom frequency make this the maximum DPS ceiling composition in version 1.0.

Nanally · Jiuyuan · Haniel · Adler — Double Anima Blossom Team

NanallyS
AnimaNanally

Replaces Esper Zero with Jiuyuan for higher Blossom frequency. Jiuyuan (Anima) and Haniel (Anima) both trigger Blossom when combined with Nanally's team positioning, and Jiuyuan's passive specifically amplifies Blossom damage. This team generates more consistent Vita Bud AoE but has lower single-target burst than the Zero team. Best for wave-clear and multi-enemy content.

Nanally · Sakiri · Haniel · Adler — Controlled Blossom Team (F2P-Friendly)

NanallyS
AnimaNanally

A more accessible composition. Sakiri's grouping pulls enemies together for Nanally's AoE attacks and Blossom Vita Pistils, and her ATK buffs complement Nanally's damage. Haniel maintains Blossom amplification. Adler provides defensive coverage. Recommended for players without Esper Zero or Jiuyuan at meaningful investment levels.

Should You Pull Nanally?

Nanally is the best Anima Main DPS in version 1.0 and one of the most well-rounded S-Rank characters overall. Her team-building requirements are met by accessible A-Rank characters (Haniel, Adler, Sakiri), meaning free-to-play players can build her optimally without additional S-Rank investment beyond Nanally herself.

Pull if: You want the highest Anima carry for Blossom teams, enjoy sustained on-field mechanical combat, or already have Haniel or Jiuyuan from standard pulls.

Consider skipping if: You are saving Annulith specifically for the Hotori limited banner (May 13 – June 3, 2026) or future exclusive characters, as Nanally is on the permanent standard banner and available for re-runs.
